Job summary

CFS in Michigan is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join its finance leadership team. The role partners with the Controller to support financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and internal controls in a global manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
• Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems; ability to communicate findings effectively.
• CPA designation preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Perform account reconciliations and financial analysis.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and strengthen internal controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and reporting accuracy.
• Support internal and external audit activities.
• Assist with federal, state, and local tax-related reporting requirements.
• Participate in special projects and other finance initiatives as needed.
