CFS is seeking an Assistant Controller/Accounting Manager in Denver, CO to lead full-cycle accounting, cost accounting, and financial reporting. This role offers high-visibility with executive leadership and a path to broader Controller-level responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Progressive accounting experience with manufacturing and cost accounting.
• Full-cycle accounting experience, including month-end close and reconciliations.
• Experience mentoring accounting staff.
• Strong standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis knowledge.
• Experience with external audits, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Strong Excel and financial modeling skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle accounting, including month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Manage and develop accounting staff across AP, AR, cost accounting, and general accounting.
• Lead manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
• Review material, labor, overhead, purchase price, scrap, and production variances.
• Support external audits and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Oversee inventory reconciliations, E&O reserves, and working capital metrics.
• Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Service.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, capital expenditure planning, and process improvement initiatives.
• Serve as a key business partner to leadership and help improve financial and operational performance.
