Job summary

CFS in Denver, CO is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to strengthen plant operations finance, inventory valuation, and cost analysis. This role partners with operations leadership to drive cost accuracy and operational efficiency across manufacturing processes.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in cost accounting in manufacturing, strong Excel and ERP experience, and a proven ability to improve standard costing, BOMs, routings, and inventory controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of cost accounting experience within manufacturing
• Strong understanding of inventory valuation and standard costing methodologies
• Experience partnering with operations teams in a plant environment
• ERP experience and strong Excel skills required
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
• Process improvement and systems mindset preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain and analyze standard costing, inventory valuation, labor, and overhead allocations
• Investigate material, labor, and overhead variances to improve product costing accuracy
• Support month-end close and operational finance reporting
• Review BOMs, routings, inventory processes, and manufacturing cost structures
• Lead inventory-related processes including cycle counts, physical inventory, and reserve analysis
• Assist with operational reporting, margin analysis, and ad hoc financial analysis
• Partner with operations leadership on cost reduction and process improvement initiatives
• Support audits, internal controls, and system/process enhancements
