Job summary

Ford Motor Company seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Leader to guide a new model development program from concept through final assembly. You will apply lean principles to ensure the highest quality and efficiency and lead tooling and facilities layouts in AutoCad.

Travel is up to 40–50% to North American assembly plants. A Bachelor’s in mechanical/manufacturing engineering and strong communication are required; AutoCad proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering (minimum).
• Proficiency in AutoCad with layouts focus.
• Willingness to travel 40–50% to North American plants.
• 1+ years of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Provide manufacturing engineering leadership throughout a new model development program from concept to launch.
• Develop tooling and facilities master layouts based on product and process.
• Apply lean manufacturing principles to improve quality and throughput.
• Lead virtual manufacturing assembly builds and resolve manufacturing issues.
• Interface with Design and Release, tool design, and facilities activities.
• Develop formal assembly process layouts in AutoCad.
• Lead facilities tooling specification, purchase, start-up, and commissioning at the site.
• Track open facilities, tooling, and process issues to closure; meet exit criteria.
