Ford Motor Company in Dearborn is seeking a diligent Manufacturing Engineer to provide leadership across new model programs, tooling, and plant layouts. You will drive safety, quality, and productivity, writing process sheets, leading tooling installs, and coordinating cross-functional teams.

The role requires a bachelor’s in engineering and 3+ years of automotive manufacturing experience, with CAD proficiency and knowledge of Ford systems. Occasional travel to US/Canada/Mexico is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical).
• 3+ years Automotive Manufacturing Engineering experience.
• 3+ years experience w/tooling, processes, and facilities.
• 3+ years CAD experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide manufacturing engineering leadership through a new model development program.
• Implement tooling and facilities updates based on product changes.
• Lead assembly builds in North America and coordinate with plants.
• Identify and drive resolution of manufacturing issues.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams (PD, STA, MP&L, NMP, MTDC).
• Write/modify/maintain process sheets post Final Design Judgement.
• Create tooling scopes of work and manage installation.
• Lead tooling start-up and commissioning at the site.
• Drive quality, cost, and labor improvements.
• Develop plant layouts and cycle line layouts.
• Lead upfront feasibility documentation for programs.
• Prepare and lead management presentations.
• Support program cost study responses with cross-functional teams.
• Mitigate launch risks and document lessons learned.
