Job summary

Georgia-Pacific seeks a Technical Manager for its Rome lumber mill in Rome, GA. You will lead technical efforts spanning process engineering, quality systems, optimization, and continuous improvement to enhance safety, quality, and profitability.

You will partner with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Controls, Engineering, Wood Supply, Integrated Planning, and Commercial teams to deliver value from every log processed and strengthen the mill's long‑term position.

Qualifications

• Experience leading technical, quality, or process-improvement initiatives in industrial manufacturing.
• Ability to analyze manufacturing data to drive improvements.
• Strong communication and cross-functional leadership.
• Experience with manufacturing analytics tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for site manufacturing processes and quality systems.
• Develop and execute strategies to improve safety, quality, recovery, throughput, and cost.
• Lead capital improvements, equipment upgrades, and technology changes.
• Monitor performance metrics and drive process capability.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Controls, Engineering, and Commercial teams.
