Job summary

SDM Composites is seeking an Estimator responsible for estimating and planning manufacturing operations based on cost estimates of materials and required processes to meet customer specifications.

The role involves developing cost estimates for parts, reviewing customer drawings, obtaining material pricing, bids from subcontractors, and preparing cost analyses in the computer system. CAD/CAM manufacturing knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Fluent verbal and written English communication.
• Detail-oriented with ability to multi-task and organize work.
• Ability to read customer drawings and understand scope of work.

Responsibilities

• Develops cost estimates on individual parts and updates MRP system accordingly.
• Reviews customer drawings and documents and understands scope of work to bid.
• Utilizes knowledge of manufacturing processes to estimate costs.
• Reviews cost components and plans for improvement.
• Obtains pricing for materials and bids from subcontractors.
