Job summary

Avantus Aerospace, Inc. is seeking an Estimator to lead cost estimation and planning for manufacturing operations. You will assess materials, processes, and labor to develop bids aligned with customer requirements, review drawings, obtain material pricing, and coordinate with subcontractors.

Strong math, Excel/Word/Teams skills and CAD/CAM knowledge are valued. This role requires reliable, detail‑oriented teamwork.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing estimating and/or planning experience preferred.
• Strong English reading/writing communication skills.
• High school diploma or GED; technical school certificate preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Word/Excel/Teams is required or beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develops cost estimates on individual parts and updates the MRP system.
• Reviews customer drawings and documents to understand scope and bid.
• Uses knowledge of machines, engineering practices, math, and materials to estimate costs.
• Reviews cost components and plans for potential improvements.
• Obtains pricing for materials and bids from subcontractors/outside vendors.
• Prepares cost analyses by summarizing material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs.
