Job Description

The Environmental, Health & Safety Manager interacts with the NA Environmental Department and the Health and Safety Department personnel to ensure consistent knowledge, implementation, and execution of regional EH&S policies, procedures, and strategies. The position advises site management on establishing EH&S objectives, plans activities to achieve those objectives, and integrates EH&S into the site culture. This role plans and promotes all phases of the plant’s environmental, health, and safety program.

The Environmental, Health & Safety Manager will:

• Advise site management regarding the establishment of EH&S objectives.
• Maintain accurate records meeting regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of existing EH&S programs.
• Measure, audit, and evaluate hazard controls and hazard control programs.
• Develop hazard control designs, methods, procedures, and programs.
• Act as the site contact for Worker’s Compensation issues.
• Coach and mentor plant leadership and supervisors in hazard identification and safety behavior discussions (Tell Me process).

The Environmental, Health & Safety Manager should have:

• Experience leading and promoting all phases of plant safety programs.
• Ability to implement, administer, and advise on hazard controls and programs.
• Experience participating in OSHA inspections.
• Skills to coordinate accident investigations and maintain OSHA reports.
• Experience conducting mandated employee health and safety training programs.
• Ability to assist Regional EH&S staff in evaluating and controlling employee exposure to occupational hazards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing plant EH&S activities.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM are preferred.
• Ability to certify OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 training is preferred.

Additional Information

Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000, including a possible 12% quarterly incentive bonus. Actual pay depends on experience and other factors.
