Job summary

Whirlpool Corporation in Racine, WI is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to provide floor support, troubleshoot equipment issues, and assist with maintenance documentation in a manufacturing setting.

You will identify root causes, resolve problems independently or escalate to SMEs, and collaborate with production to develop and update standard operating procedures and work instructions. This role emphasizes minimizing downtime and maintaining efficient processes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Industrial Maintenance or Automated Manufacturing Systems Technology.
• Ability to read complex electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical drawings/schematics.
• Strong mechanical knowledge; hydro/pneumatic understanding.
• Experience with industrial automation; troubleshooting and basic robot programming (Fanuc, KUKA).
• Knowledge of CI, Lean, and World Class Manufacturing tools.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP) and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment and systems using RCA, 5 Whys, and other problem-solving techniques.
• Interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints to diagnose issues.
• Analyze real-time equipment data to inform troubleshooting decisions.
• Report machine issues to the day shift ME team.
• Provide technical guidance to production and maintenance staff; update process documentation.
• Develop and audit standards per quality system requirements (SOPs, risk assessments, LOTO).
• Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, and installations.
• Support development, integration and start-up of new processes and equipment.
