Job summary

Standex International is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to support engineering and production operations. The role focuses on troubleshooting equipment, maintaining test systems, and delivering technical documentation to drive safe, efficient manufacturing.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams on process improvements, equipment validations, and production trials, while contributing to 5S and lean initiatives to advance Standex's manufacturing excellence.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in robotics, electronics, manufacturing tech.
• Hands-on experience with troubleshooting production machinery and automation.
• Soldering certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Strong problem-solving skills with mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Experience with technical writing or documentation creation.
• Proficiency with basic measurement tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform production machine troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and maintain test systems, fixtures, and automated testing equipment.
• Perform soldering tasks and follow soldering practices; maintain certification and train others.
• Support manufacturing engineers with process improvements, validations, and trials.
• Assist with special projects involving new equipment, process upgrades, automation, and prototypes.
• Produce clear technical documentation, including work instructions, test procedures, and reports.
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to solve daily operational issues.
• Collect production and test data to identify trends and root causes.
• Adhere to safety, quality standards, and manufacturing best practices.
• Participate in 5S, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician supports engineering and production operations by troubleshooting equipment, maintaining test systems, executing special projects, and providing technical documentation. This role ensures manufacturing processes run safely, efficiently, and consistently while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Do

• Perform production machine troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and maintain test systems, fixtures, and automated testing equipment.
• Perform soldering tasks and follow industry‑standard soldering practices; maintain solder certification and assist in training others.
• Support manufacturing engineers with process improvement activities, equipment validations, and production trials.
• Assist with special projects involving new equipment, process upgrades, automation, and prototype builds.
• Produce clear, accurate technical documentation, including work instructions, test procedures, and engineering reports.
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to solve daily operational issues.

What You’ll Bring

• Associate degree in robotics, electronics, manufacturing technology, or related technical field preferred.
• Industry solder certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Hands‑on experience with troubleshooting production machinery, automation systems, or test equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documents.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with technical writing or documentation creation.
• Proficiency with basic measurement tools, diagnostic equipment, and standard office software.
• Ability to work both independently and in cross‑functional teams.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and work on manufacturing floors for extended periods.
• Lift up to 40 lbs as needed.
• Use PPE as required.
