Standex International is seeking a skilled Machinist to set up, operate, and maintain a range of machine tools to produce precision parts. You will read blueprints, select tooling, and ensure tight tolerances while following safety standards.

The role requires a high school diploma (GED), 5+ years of machining experience, and licenses such as OSHA forklift, 1C and 3A hoisting. Schedule is 6:00am–2:30pm, with responsibilities including quality checks and continuous process improvements.

Responsabilités

• Set up, adjust, and operate milling machines, boring mills, engine lathes, tracer lathes, and drill presses.
• Read drawings, specifications and process plans; use precision measuring instruments for exact measurements.
• Maintain equipment, materials and work area, and perform duties with minimal supervision.
• Contribute to maintaining safety standards and PPE compliance.
• Perform other duties as necessary to complete tasks.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, blueprints, and quality control standards.

Schedule: 6:00am-2:30pm

What You'll Do

Daily Responsibilities

• Work from Drawings, specifications, and process plans; use a variety of precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, gauges, indicators and all Vernier instruments for exact measurements.
• Set up, adjust, and operate various types of milling machines, boring mills, engine lathes, tracer lathes, and drill presses; to perform a wide variety of operations on a diversified line of close tolerance and finish requirements
• Ability to run at least 3 production jobs on 2 different machining centers with minimal supervision (does not include small machine tools)
• Select speeds and feeds, operational sequences, and tooling for required operations.
• Perform recognized operations such as turning, boring, reaming, facing, threading etc., on standardized work.
• Grind tools, spin blocks, rollers, rings, etc.
• Responsible for equipment, material, work and keeping the work area clean and organized
• Proceed with minimum or no supervision and direction
• Do all trim, cut out and cut off work with limited supervision and minimum rework
• Be neat and orderly around work area
• Perform other duties as necessary in order to complete other tasks.
• Demonstrations a working knowledge and follow all of the PPE requirements
• Perform the duties of 3C machinists

What You'll Bring

• High School diploma or G.E.D
• Work requires knowledge of machining, shop mathematics, and shop practices, plus 5 years’ experience
• Must have a valid OSHA forklift license and hold 1C and 3A hoisting license. 15. Demonstrate accuracy in all documentation and job reporting
