Summary of Work Performed:

Under the general supervision of a supervisor or an employee of equal or higher rank, the Manufacturing Engineer - Resource Programmer IV will serve as a subject matter expert responsible for effective design of manufacturing resources including: Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) numerical controlled (NC) programs, Manufacturing Computer Aided Design (MCAD) tools/fixtures, loft patterns, and operational models with associated 2D drawings. Must have knowledge of shop production and processing operations. Work in accordance with management strategies and concepts as well as program and departmental processes and procedures using Bell Business Systems. May direct, mentor, and train one or more employees.

Work Performed:

  • Interrogate, analyze, comprehend, and interpret various engineering drawings, models, bills of materials, technical specifications, quality documents, Bell process framework, and departmental procedures as necessary to perform assigned work.
  • Provide MCAD operational models and 2D drawings for manufacturing process planning sequences as required.
  • Support manufacturing operations as a process liaison when MCAD models with 2D drawings exist.
  • Develop, create, and maintain tooling/fixture definitions for manufacturing operations across all media types, including MCAD and manual legacy designs.
  • Create and maintain CAM programs and operator instructions for NC equipment.
  • Develop, create, and maintain Loft MCAD models, flat patterns, and associated digital tooling programs.
  • Possess working knowledge of NC programming, Loft, engineering, tool design, manufacturing, and planning processes and procedures.
  • Apply extensive aircraft manufacturing knowledge and be prepared to train, direct, instruct, mentor, and validate production engineering work.
  • Maintain records and schedules of assigned work.
  • Ensure compliance with company cost control standards, schedule, and quality requirements to maintain market competitiveness.
  • Provide technical assistance to procurement and suppliers as directed by management.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external customers.
  • Attend training and complete competency-based testing as required to stay current with technological advancements.

Educational Requirements:

  • Four (4) years of college education or eight (8) years of experience in the aircraft industry, demonstrating capability in applying GD&T and aerospace tolerances.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
  • This position involves handling information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR, including U.S. citizens, permanent residents, political asylees, or refugees.
