Summary of Work Performed:

Under the supervision of a manager or a similarly ranked employee, the Manufacturing Engineering Resource Programmer IV will serve as a subject matter expert in designing manufacturing resources. Responsibilities include developing CNC programs, MCAD tools/fixtures, loft patterns, and operational models with associated 2D drawings. Candidates should possess knowledge of shop production and processing operations, and may mentor or train other employees.

Work Performed:

  • Interpret engineering drawings, models, BOMs, technical specifications, quality documents, and departmental procedures.
  • Provide MCAD operational models and 2D drawings for manufacturing planning.
  • Support manufacturing operations with process liaison support using existing MCAD models and drawings.
  • Develop and maintain tooling/fixture definitions for various manufacturing media, including MCAD and legacy manual designs.
  • Create and maintain CAM programs and operator instructions for NC equipment.
  • Develop Loft MCAD models, flat patterns, and digital tooling programs.
  • Possess working knowledge of NC programming, Loft, engineering, tool design, manufacturing, and planning processes.
  • Apply GD&T and aerospace tolerances effectively.
  • Assist in producibility assessments as needed.
  • Maintain records and schedules for assigned work.
  • Adhere to cost, schedule, and quality standards to ensure competitiveness.
  • Provide technical support to procurement and suppliers.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leverage aerospace manufacturing knowledge to train and mentor production engineering staff.
  • Participate in training and competency testing to stay current with technological advancements.

Educational Requirements:

  • Four years of college education or eight years of experience in the aircraft industry, with demonstrated capability in applying GD&T and aerospace tolerances.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Position involves handling information subject to ITAR regulations. All applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR (U.S. citizens, permanent residents, political asylees, or refugees).
