Job summary

Magna Electronics is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead the Post/SMT engineering team, drive optimization of manufacturing processes, and achieve high product yield. You will implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies while collaborating with production, quality, design, and supply chain to meet targets.

The role requires strong leadership, 8+ years in manufacturing engineering, SMT familiarity, and a record of delivering efficiency improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in manufacturing engineering in a similar industry.
• Prior experience with SMT is preferred for the Post/SMT Manufacturing Engineering Manager role.
• Expertise in optimizing manufacturing processes and improving operational efficiency.
• Strong knowledge and application of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma/Smart X methodologies.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.
• Experience in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
• Proven experience working with cross functional teams to complete daily tasks and projects.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other employees.
• Knowledge/experience of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
• Strong problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot issues that may arise.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the manufacturing engineering team to optimize manufacturing processes and ensure efficient production.
• Design, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing systems and workflows.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other process optimization techniques to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, design, and supply chain, to drive innovation and meet production targets.
• Analyze production data and metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to resolve complex manufacturing issues.
• Oversee development of documentation, such as standard operating procedures and work instructions, to ensure consistent and efficient manufacturing processes.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in manufacturing engineering.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the engineering team and across the organization.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
• Monitor the performance of the manufacturing engineering team and provide feedback and coaching to drive performance excellence.
