Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manager of Manufacturing Engineering 1 to lead a team of manufacturing engineers at its Armament Systems site in Plymouth, MN. The role emphasizes directing daily operations, driving productivity, and cost control while coordinating with planning, supply chain, and design teams.

You will oversee ERP systems like SAP S/4Hana and MES Solumina, develop staffing plans, and mentor engineers to optimize processes and product quality for medium- and large-caliber

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or STEM with 5 years of related professional engineering experience in manufacturing and regulated environments, or a Master’s degree with 3 years of experience.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and problem-solving methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to subordinates using established policies and precedents.
• Monitor daily operations of exempt/non-exempt staff and guide them as needed.
• Coach direct reports in career development, performance, and teamwork.
• Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and manufacturing requirements.
• Ensure processes comply with regulations and company policy.
