Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead engineering, maintenance, and utilities at a manufacturing facility in Lyndhurst, VA.

You will drive reliability, capital projects, and safe, cost-efficient plant operations as part of the site leadership team. You will develop a high-performing technical team, oversee asset performance, and partner with Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to improve overall plant performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or related Engineering.
  • 8+ years of engineering and/or maintenance experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience leading engineering or maintenance teams.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance, reliability, and asset management best practices.
  • Experience leading capital projects and managing budgets.
  • Background in process manufacturing; chemical or fiber manufacturing preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to support plant operations, including occasional after-hours or weekend responsibilities as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop engineering, maintenance, utilities, and technical teams.
  • Drive a strong culture of safety and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Develop and execute preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance programs.
  • Improve equipment reliability using root cause analysis, FMEA, and other reliability tools.
  • Plan, manage, and execute capital projects from concept through startup, ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget.
  • Oversee plant utilities to ensure reliable operation and uninterrupted production.
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and other departments to improve plant performance.
  • Monitor KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
  • Collaborate with corporate engineering teams and external vendors on technical initiatives.

  • Experience leading capital projects and managing budgets.
  • Background in process manufacturing; chemical or fiber manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to support plant operations, including occasional after-hours or weekend responsibilities as needed.
