Position Overview

As the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will lead a team dedicated to developing, reviewing, and optimizing manufacturing processes for new and existing product designs. This role is critical to ensuring operational efficiency, product quality, and continuous improvement across our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and develop the manufacturing engineering team.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and technical support to ensure team success.
  • Process Development & Optimization
  • Design and implement efficient manufacturing processes.
  • Improve safety, quality, and productivity using lean manufacturing principles.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve throughput.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Design, Production, and Quality teams on new products and processes.
  • Partner with suppliers to evaluate and source new materials, technologies, and equipment.
  • Production Support
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex manufacturing issues.
  • Support CNC programming and on-floor implementation.
  • Oversee integration of new machinery, automation, and technologies.
  • Research product defects and recommend improvements.
  • Modify molds to increase equipment compatibility and production capacity.
  • Create experimental ideas for new product presentations and approvals.
  • Compliance & Standards
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Enforce 5S and housekeeping protocols across the production floor.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire and develop teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing methods: machining, fabrication, assembly, and automation.
  • Proficiency in:
  • Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • CAD/CAM software.
  • CNC machine programming.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and meeting strict timelines.
  • Familiarity with quality systems (e.g., ISO) and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
  • Minimum of 5 years in manufacturing engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in process improvement, lean manufacturing, and project management.
  • Background in Thermoforming environments preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and operate machinery.
  • Frequently lift up to 25 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Primarily in a warehouse/manufacturing setting.
  • Exposure to moving machinery, elevated work areas, chemicals, and high noise levels.
  • Must follow all safety and compliance protocols.
