Job summary

Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead the Manufacturing Engineering function across multiple facilities in Mayodan, NC and Newport, NH. The role focuses on safe, stable, and continuous improvement of production operations.

You will mentor engineers, drive lean initiatives, manage capital projects, and collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, EHS, Supply Chain, and Plant Leadership to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven leadership capability and experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, Lean, and quality systems.
• Experience with CNC machining, tooling/fixture design, and CAM software.

Responsibilities

• Lead Manufacturing Engineers and develop departmental goals aligned with plant strategy.
• Drive process optimization, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee tooling, fixtures, and equipment design and implementation.
• Manage capital projects, scopes, budgets, and cross-functional teams.
• Ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are met with EHS collaboration.
