Job summary

RTX’s Pratt & Whitney in Asheville seeks an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Discipline Chief to lead process development, producibility assessments, and MRL advancement across investment casting. You will drive quality, delivery, and cost outcomes by guiding cross-functional teams and coordinating with design and shop-floor colleagues.

Role requires strong leadership, Six Sigma experience, and the ability to influence at all organization levels.

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent with 8+ years experience.
• Experience in advanced nickel alloy investment castings.
• Ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence teams.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills across levels.
• DFSS/Lean knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to the Manufacturing Engineering discipline.
• Perform producibility assessments and evaluate capability to meet safety, quality, and cost requirements.
• Execute APQP and Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) elements to drive process control.
• Lead PFMEA, Control Plan & Gage R&R for MRL advancement across PW shops.
• Improve quality and delivery signatures via process optimization and cost reduction.
• Assess discipline health and address gaps with mitigation actions.
• Lead discipline reviews and follow-up actions to drive MRL improvements.
• Evaluate engineering changes in technical reviews to support MRL advancement plan.
• Collaborate with shop floor personnel and stakeholders to read across DFV/DFSS.
