Job summary

Trojan Battery Company in Attica, IN is seeking a Manager of Manufacturing Engineering to optimize plant capabilities, capital equipment, and processes, lead equipment development, oversee design engineers, and drive cost, quality, and safety improvements across manufacturing.

You will mentor 2–5 process engineers, coordinate with suppliers and contractors, champion lean methodologies, and ensure regulatory compliance while delivering world-class manufacturing workstations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a technical field.
• 10+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Lean manufacturing/Six Sigma experience.
• Relocation capability (we cover that).
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Apply lean manufacturing principles to layouts, equipment, and process flows.
• Manage tooling design, modification, and maintenance for production machinery.
• Lead equipment development, installation, and qualification with plant personnel.
• Direct ME projects, perform root-cause analysis, and implement controls.
• Own capital projects, budget and timeline management.
• Drive make-vs-buy decisions and manufacturability improvements.
• Ensure regulatory compliance for emissions and environmental concerns.
• Coach 2–5 process engineers and collaborate across functions.
• Develop world-class manufacturing workstations and optimize plant layouts.
