Job summary

Life Fitness / Hammer Strength in Ramsey, Minnesota is seeking a Summer Internship in Manufacturing Engineering. You will contribute to a cross-functional project, support day-to-day engineering activities, and gain exposure to manufacturing processes in a global equipment organization.

During the 12-week program, you will work with mentors, apply CAD/3D modeling tools, and develop data-driven recommendations to improve quality, efficiency, and safety.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, with an expected graduation date in 2028 or 2029.
• Must reside near Ramsey, Minnesota for the duration of the summer internship program.
• Strong academic standing preferred, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5.
• Demonstrated initiative and eagerness to learn.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with CAD, 3D modeling software, or engineering projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a business-critical project with meaningful impact on manufacturing operations and business performance.
• Support day-to-day engineering activities and manufacturing processes within the Manufacturing Engineering function.
• Collaborate on a 12-week cross-functional case study project and present findings to senior leaders.
• Use Microsoft Office and CAD/3D tools to analyze issues, summarize findings, and provide data-driven recommendations.
• Follow engineering procedures and standards to deliver high-quality work on schedule.
• Support process improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, safety, and productivity.
• Maintain organized project documentation and engineering data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support manufacturing, engineering, and operational objectives.
• Attend team meetings and project reviews to gain exposure to broader business operations.
