Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. offers a Summer Internship Program in manufacturing engineering. You will support manufacturing systems for AV unmanned systems, analyze processes, and help optimize workflows under guidance from senior engineers.

The 12‑week, onsite program seeks motivated students or recent grads with a 3.0+ GPA and a willingness to relocate for potential stipends. Opportunities span multiple teams and locations nationwide.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or related engineering field.
• Some coursework or experience in manufacturing, process improvement, or quality control.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and quality.
• Assist in applying Lean/Six Sigma methods for continuous improvement.
• Analyze production data to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Help document standard work hours, sequences, and assembly procedures.
• Assist in generating work instructions and process documentation.
• Collaborate with design engineering on DFU/DFM and reliability.
• Contribute to cross‑functional improvement projects with suppliers.
