Job summary

Volvo Group's internship at the New River Valley Plant offers hands-on experience assisting BIW and/or Paint manufacturing engineering. You will apply classroom knowledge in a real plant, work on lean initiatives, time studies, and standardized work, and interact with engineering professionals to drive practical projects.

You will develop skills in AutoCAD, Excel, PowerPoint, and 3-D modeling while contributing to production and logistics improvements.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited program in industrial systems engineering or mechanical engineering.
• Must have completed at least 30 semester hours prior to start.
• GPA of 2.75 or higher is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with lean manufacturing and standard work development.
• Perform time studies and help improve labor utilization.
• Create and maintain procedures and plan for every part documents.
• Support in design, prototyping, testing and implementation for production and logistics.
• Communicate across levels and collaborate with engineering professionals.
