Job summary

Volvo Group in Dublin, VA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern for Spring 2027. The role supports BIW/Paint manufacturing engineering with hands-on projects in a dynamic plant environment.

You will develop skills in lean manufacturing, time studies, and standard work while using AutoCAD and Excel to deliver data-driven improvements and presentations to leadership. Housing and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in industrial systems eng, mechanical eng, or related field; must have completed 30 semester hours before start.
• Minimum GPA 2.75.
• Spring interns may work up to 30 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Review labor standards and identify ways to improve utilization and reduce waste.
• Assist in developing and updating standardized work at each station and Lean implementation.
• Perform time studies on the shop floor using stopwatch and video.
• Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
• Lead projects from design to testing for production and logistics use.
