Job summary

Actalent in Valencia, CA is seeking an Engineering Intern to perform routine engineering tasks on the manufacturing floor and assist Manufacturing and Production Engineers. You will support MRB, process analysis, and documentation creation, gaining hands-on experience toward a potential full-time role.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, data collection, and continuous improvement, with a typical daytime shift in a fully onsite setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Approximately 1 year of manufacturing-related experience or engineering‑specific education.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and workflows.
• Knowledge of inspection techniques and ability to review inspection reports.
• Ability to use micrometers and calipers.
• Basic understanding of blueprint reading and interpreting drawings.
• Fundamental engineering knowledge in mechanical/manufacturing disciplines.
• Experience or familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks).
• Proficiency with data review and MS Office.
• Shop math: arithmetic, algebra, geometry.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and organized documentation.

Responsibilities

• Create clear, accurate work instructions and rework instructions for manufacturing.
• Perform ERP transactions to document production activities.
• Maintain and update engineering docs and redline orders.
• Support MRB processes by verifying quality rejections.
• Gather information on rejections and perform containment activities.
• Perform minor rework and touch-up tasks as directed.
• Assist in a variety of engineering activities and projects.
• Collect data on processes to aid analysis and continuous improvement.
• Pursue continued education to expand process knowledge.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively.
