Job summary

Ashton North LLC seeks a Director of Manufacturing Engineering to lead CNC programming, NPI, and digital manufacturing across aerospace components. You will guide design transfer, first articles, and production launches, setting readiness milestones and escalation paths for complex, flight-critical hardware.

The role requires 10+ years in aerospace manufacturing, strong CATIA CAM experience, and proven leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering or related field (or equivalent).
10+ years in aerospace/defense/precision machining or advanced manufacturing with technical leadership.
Strong CATIA CAM workflows, production programming, and machining process development.
Experience with VERICUT or similar NC verification and machine simulation tools.
Proven NPI, first-article, and production-launch leadership for complex metallic components.
Advanced CNC machining knowledge including multi-axis processes, tooling, fixtures, and release controls.
Knowledge of GD&T, CMM inspection, on-machine probing and AS9100 environments.
Ability to manage competing priorities with deadlines, material constraints, and capacity.
Excellent communication with operators, programmers, customers and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

Lead Manufacturing Engineering, CNC Programming, NPI and production readiness efforts.
Translate drawings and CATIA models into production-ready processes.
Guide multi-axis machining strategies for aerospace components.
Establish and maintain CATIA CAM standards and postprocessor practices.
Strengthen CNC verification with VERICUT and accurate models.
Improve cycle times, setups, utilization, and process capability.
Drive NPI milestones, readiness reviews, project ownership and escalation.
Coordinate programming, tooling, fixtures, inspection plans, and operator prep.
Reduce scrap and risk via simulations, reviews, and corrective actions.
Explore additive manufacturing for tooling and fixtures within development.
