Job summary

Watts in Germantown, WI is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Co-op to join the on-site engineering team for Jan–Jun/Aug 2027. You will support manufacturing processes, assist capital projects, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

The role provides hands-on experience with process optimization and cross-functional collaboration in a real production environment. You will work with seasoned engineers to resolve quality, safety, and ergonomic challenges while building practical

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering or related discipline.
• Experience using office software for spreadsheets, documents, and presentations.
• Demonstrated ability to think deeply and critically about processes.
• Understanding and implementation of Lean fundamentals.
• Adherence to safety practices and applicable laws and policies.

Responsibilities

• Support the production floor team by troubleshooting production issues with technical expertise.
• Assist in developing and executing capital projects to improve processes and layout.
• Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance safety, quality, waste reduction, and efficiency.
• Utilize root cause analysis, fishbone diagrams, and SPC for problem solving.
• Monitor production data to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
• Support creation and maintenance of process documentation and work instructions.
