Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Summer Intern/Co-op for 2027 across multiple U.S. locations.

The role focuses on applying engineering fundamentals to large-scale industrial systems, supporting safety, productivity, and energy efficiency initiatives within a paper mill environment. You will collaborate with operations, maintenance, EHS, and engineering teams; contribute to projects on cost reduction, reliability, and environmental performance, and gain hands-on experience

Qualifications

• Candidates must be actively enrolled in an accredited engineering program.

Responsibilities

• Work in a paper mill manufacturing environment supporting operational, reliability, and process improvement initiatives.
• Analyze operational data and present findings to engineering and plant leadership.
• Participate in continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
