Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking an intern for its Manufacturing Engineering track in Florida/Jacksonville to build a strong foundation in manufacturing and assembly processes, with exposure to new product integration and continuous improvement.

You will learn Lean and Six Sigma principles, work on safety and quality controls, and develop project management and negotiation skills while supporting engine assembly and component fabrication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale.
• Attending a full-time registered and nationally accredited bachelor or graduate program.
• Willingness and ability to work in any of the 35+ GE Aerospace U.S. locations.
• Reliable transportation, as many sites lack public transit.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand state-of-the-art methods of manufacturing.
• Support manufacturing and repair processes for component hardware and/or overall engine assembly.
• Maintain high-quality standards via risk assessment, root cause analysis, corrective action, and statistical controls.
• Ensure safe work conditions via EHS initiatives.
• Learn and apply Lean and Six Sigma to drive productivity and on-time delivery in a complex environment.
• Support delivery efforts for sourced components by working with shops and suppliers while building project management and business skills.
