Job summary

Amsted Rail is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Co-op at our Granite City, IL facility. You will work with the Engineering Department on continuous improvement initiatives, split between the shop floor and office, collaborating with production, maintenance, and safety teams throughout the product lifecycle.

The role supports cross-functional teams and ongoing improvements in production functionality. Ideal candidates are pursuing a BS in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, can work ~20

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Able to work close to 20 hours per week during school and full-time during summer.
• Preferred: AutoCAD & 3D modeling experience
• Lean manufacturing principles
• 5S methodology
• Engineering problem solving skills
• Teamwork and good interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities for improvement on the manufacturing floor.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, safety, and other teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and engineering projects on the shop floor and in the office.
