Job summary

Amsted Rail in Hammond, IN is seeking an Engineering Co-Op to support development of engineering documentation and manufacturing processes. The role provides hands-on experience in an industrial setting, working under the Engineering and Quality Manager to solve real-world problems.

You will create 3D models and 2D drawings in Creo, develop work instructions, and assist with data analysis in Excel while aligning with safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.
• Availability to work approximately 20 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Create and revise 3D models and 2D drawings using Creo CAD software.
• Develop and update work instructions and technical documentation.
• Support engineering and management teams in daily operational tasks.
• Utilize tools such as Microsoft Excel to organize, analyze, and interpret data.
• Assist with troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment.
• Ensure compliance with plant safety, ergonomic, and environmental standards.
