Amsted Rail’s Granite City facility seeks a Quality Analyst Co-Op to support the foundry’s casting quality program. You’ll tackle process improvements, assist with metrology and NDT, and help manage throughput while pursuing a relevant engineering degree.

This role emphasizes creativity, project work, and effective communication in a collaborative environment, with on-site responsibilities in Granite City, IL. Part‑time during school is typical.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or Engineering Management w/ Industrial Engineering focus – 3.0 GPA minimum.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• CAD software experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with quality issues related to the green sand foundry process and metrology.
• Manage throughput of products and contribute to a major casting quality engineering project.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Quality Analyst Co-Op

Amsted Rail has an immediate opening for a Quality Analyst Co-Op at its operation in Granite City, Illinois.

This unique opportunity requires an innovative, self-starting individual to apply their creativity and vision to our green sand foundry process. In addition, the employee will assist with technical issues relating to quality of products, metrology, non‑destructive testing, and manage throughput of products. Applicants need to be able to think creatively, manage projects and communicate effectively.

The Co-Op student will tackle one ongoing major project, along with daily tasks within the casting quality‑engineering group. The goal is for a student to work part time while in school.

Qualifications:

The hourly pay range for this position is $18 to $20 per hour. The exact rate will vary based on factors such as experience, skills, education, and location. This non‑exempt role is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable federal and state laws.
