Job summary

Commercial Sewing in Torrington, CT, is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer Technician to drive process improvements across a multi-SKU, semi-custom manufacturing environment. You will analyze production processes, balance lines, support new product launches, and collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and R&D to resolve issues.

The role focuses on process optimization, troubleshooting, quality, throughput, and cost reduction, and requires a Bachelor's in Manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years of hands-on manufacturing/process engineering experience.
• Experience in a production environment; high-mix or configurable manufacturing preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
• Ability to recommend and implement practical improvements.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and improve production processes, workflows, and line balance.
• Conduct time studies and identify bottlenecks and efficiency opportunities.
• Support daily production troubleshooting and corrective actions.
• Lead or support Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma improvement initiatives.
• Support new product introduction, including manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and work instructions.
• Create and update CAD drawings, layouts, tooling, and production documentation.
• Collect and analyze production data to measure efficiency, quality, and process improvements.
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and R&D to resolve problems and implement improvements.
• Support capital equipment evaluations and root‑cause analysis.
