Job summary

Dover Corporation in Austin, TX is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Technician II to assist Manufacturing Engineers, Design Engineering, and production teams in developing and implementing manufacturing instructions and procedures.

You will review engineering changes, support pFMEA, provide training, assist in prototype development, and help drive Lean initiatives and KPI reporting while collaborating with Quality, Maintenance, and Safety.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.
  • Ability to read Engineering drawings and other technical documentation.
  • Strong computer literacy and data interpretation skills.

  • Reviews and approves Engineering Change Orders for BOM structures and assigns labor hours to MES.
  • Reviews documentation such as manufacturing procedures, BOMS, drawings, and routings.
  • Assists with pFMEA development to identify failures and makes recommendations to Manufacturing Engineers and Design Engineers.
  • Provide guidance for preventive maintenance and general repair on equipment or machinery.
  • Provides specialized training to production employees and technical direction to production trainer.
  • Assists in prototype development by debugging, modifications, assembly, and testing.
  • Report out metrics and KPIs.
  • Participate in Lean initiatives and engage with Six Sigma tools for process improvements.
  • Interact with internal departments such as Quality, Maintenance, Production, Safety, etc.

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering Tech

Required skills / knowledge
  • Completion of a High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 3+ years related experience or training in manufacturing; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization
  • Ability to read Engineering drawings and other technical documentation
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common factions and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Able to be a team player
  • Strong working knowledge of computers, equipment, and procedures.
Preferred skills
  • MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Lean experience

Work Arrangement: Onsite
