Job summary

Dover Fueling Solutions in Austin, TX is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Tech to support engineers and production teams. You will help develop, route, and implement manufacturing instructions for assembling products and assist with BOMs and labor hour assignments.

Ideal candidates have a GED, 3+ years in manufacturing, strong reading of mechanical drawings, and solid Excel/Office skills. This onsite role offers growth, training, and opportunities to contribute to Lean and Six Sigma

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years manufacturing experience or training
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and other technical documentation
  • Mathematical proficiency with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Team player mindset
  • Strong working knowledge of computers, equipment, and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Assist Manufacturing, Design Eng, and production teams
  • Support development and implementation of manufacturing instructions
  • Review and approve Engineering Change Orders for BOM and labor hours
  • Review docs like procedures, BOMs, drawings, routings
  • Assist with pFMEA to identify failures and recommendations
  • Provide guidance for preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Train production staff and supervise production trainer
  • Assist in prototype development: debug, modify, assemble, test
  • Report metrics and KPIs
  • Participate in Lean/Six Sigma process improvements
  • Interact with Quality, Maintenance, Production, and Safety

Job description

Manufacturing Engineering Tech

Job responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance to Manufacturing Engineers, Design Engineering, and production departments
  • Support development, routing, and implementation of manufacturing instructions to assemble products
  • Review and approve Engineering Change Orders for BOM structures and assign labor hours to MES
  • Review documentation such as manufacturing procedures, BOMs, drawings, and routings
  • Assist with pFMEA development to identify failures and make recommendations to Manufacturing Engineers and Design Engineers
  • Provide guidance for preventive maintenance and general repair on equipment or machinery
  • Provide specialized training to production employees and technical direction to production trainer
  • Assist in prototype development by debugging, modifying, assembling, and testing
  • Report metrics and KPIs
  • Participate in Lean initiatives and engage with Six Sigma tools for process improvements
  • Interact with internal departments such as Quality, Maintenance, Production, and Safety
Required Skills / Knowledge
  • Completion of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 3+ years of related experience or training in manufacturing; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of the organization.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and other technical documentation.
  • Mathematical proficiency with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals across units of measure.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and interpret bar graphs.
