Job summary

Magna International Limited in Indiana seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to support routine engineering assignments, designs, calculations, and reports for a three-shift automotive operation. You will work with suppliers, management, and shop personnel to ensure capability and quality while applying basic statistics and problem-solving techniques.

The role emphasizes APQP involvement, tooling support, and continuous improvement in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Engineering or related technical field, or significant related experience.
• 2–5 years in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive Tier 1 or 2.
• Basic understanding of CNC programming and manufacturing automation.
• Knowledge of QS-9000, IATF 16949, ISO standards preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office and CAD software (AutoCAD) for drawings and illustrations.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to interface with staff, vendors, and plant personnel.
• Experience supporting plant startups, new product launches, and high-volume operations is a plus.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, APQP, and problem-solving approaches.

Responsibilities

• Prepare routine engineering assignments, plans, designs and reports for manufacturing.
• Conduct basic surveys and inspections and document findings.
• Support process documentation, control plans, PFMEAs, and model introductions.
• Assist Supplier Quality and Manufacturing during production of new products.
• Collaborate with management, engineering, maintenance, and production for schedules and capabilities.
• Apply basic statistics to evaluate machinery and process capability.
• Use 8-Step, DOE, and mistake-proofing methods to identify issues and drive actions.
