Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Corporation is seeking a Staff Manufacturing Engineer to help develop and optimize manufacturing processes in a hands-on, collaborative setting in NY. You will work with design engineering to bring new products to life and support production from design through handoff.

This role emphasizes process improvement, tooling development, and cross-functional teamwork to deliver efficient, robust manufacturing solutions for aerospace and defense projects.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks).
• Knowledge of basic electronic and mechanical assembly.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Experience with 5S and lean practices.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing manufacturing methods, process flows, and operational sequences.
• Design and develop tools and fixtures to accommodate production build processes.
• Work closely with the design team to coordinate the release of new products and ensure smooth transitions to manufacturing.
• Estimate manufacturing costs, establish time standards, and recommend tooling and process improvements.
• Create and update manufacturing work instructions and standard procedures.
• Collaborate with various team members including design, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, procurement, quality, and inspection.
• Conduct routine analysis related to labor standards, production flow, and lean cost reduction efforts.
• Aid in establishing and maintaining a 5S work environment throughout the facility.
• Participate with maintaining environmental, health and safety (EHS) standards.

Manufacturing Engineer, Staff

At Curtiss Wright we specialize in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of a wide variety of systems and components for the aerospace and defense industry. We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer, Staff to join our team!

This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career engineer to work hands-on in a collaborative environment, supporting manufacturing projects from design to production. You will play a key role in developing and improving manufacturing processes, working closely with design engineering, and helping bring new products to life.

LOCATION: Hauppauge, NY

SALARY RANGE: $83,800 - $100,000/year

WHAT YOU BRING

• Experience with CAD tools. i.e., Solid Works




• Knowledge of basic electronic and mechanical assembly principles.




• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook).




• Strong analytical and communication skills, with a detail-oriented mindset.

Bonus Skills (Preferred but not required):

• Understanding of statistical and mathematical concepts including probability, geometry, and trigonometry.




• Familiarity with manufacturing standards and process documentation.




• Prior experience/familiarity with an ERP system.




• Spanish language skills.
