Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Second Shift Manufacturing Engineer Associate to help develop and implement manufacturing processes, layouts, and production workflows for assemblies, equipment installation, and material handling.

You will drive adoption of automation and digital tools, analyze 3D models, apply lean Six Sigma to improve throughput and quality, and collaborate with design, manufacturing, test, and safety teams while supporting hazard prevention.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline required.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Secret Clearance.
• Experience with manufacturing processes and lean six sigma concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, test, quality, and stakeholders as products move from planning to release.
• Use SAP, dPLM, and other tools to analyze operations, create work-instructions and production records.
• Identify and implement equipment, tools, and material handling improvements.
• Apply lean principles to maximize facility utilization and workflow efficiency.

Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions. Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement. As a Second Shift Manufacturing Engineer Associate, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Interfacing with design, manufacturing, test, quality, and other internal/external stakeholders as the product(s) move from planning to release, completion, and distribution
• Using SAP, dPLM, and other applications & tools to analyze and develop sequence of operations, work-instructions, procedures, and production record systems including inspection and test
• Assisting in the identification, procurement, and implementation of equipment, machinery, tools/fixtures, and material handling systems
• Establishing methods for maximum utilization of the production facilities and personnel utilizing lean six sigma concepts to improve work-flow efficiencies throughout production and the facility
• Using 2D/3D modeling tools to assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of manufacturing cells & layouts throughout the facility
• Using business process applications and tools to analyze data to improve productivity including reducing cost, improving inventory accuracy and improving first pass quality to achieve on-time schedules
• Investigating issues, gathering data, and initiating corrective actions and then presenting solutions to teams and leaders within the organization
• Assisting in establishing hazard prevention measures including personnel training programs for all phases of production operations including safety and ergonomics

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Engineering Discipline

Must be U.S. Citizen and ability to obtain Secret Clearance

Desired Skills

Ability to define problems, collect/analyze data & make necessary improvements to achieve desired performance

Familiarity with lean/six-sigma/DMAIC manufacturing methods and techniques

Familiarity with 2D/3D modeling programs such as Auto-CAD and CREO

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $52400.00 - $97400.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
