Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer 2/3 for the Rocket Center, WV site just outside Cumberland, MD. The role develops and oversees manufacturing processes, with emphasis on design for manufacturability and continuous improvement. On-site work only.

The position requires a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree (BS or MS) and 2+ years (or 0+ years with MS) of relevant experience, plus the ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering with related STEM discipline and required experience levels.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to interpret drawings and specs.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment and hands-on work; eligible for U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee manufacturing processes based on design requirements.
• Create and maintain detailed work instructions for products/processes.
• Investigate manufacturing problems and implement corrective actions.
• Support proposal and development activities and provide day-to-day manufacturing support.
• Collaborate with design engineering on manufacturability issues; evaluate discrepant hardware.
