Job summary

Accumold in Ankeny, IA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer - Production to lead manufacturing engineering across injection molding and assembly processes. You will identify quality improvements, cost savings, and process optimization by collaborating with Quality, Finance, Project Engineers, Planning/Purchasing, Production, and Vendors.

The role requires practical problem solving, LEAN/Six Sigma methods, and ability to train operators; experience with tooling, fixtures, and process controls;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience in plastics molding.
• Experience in plastic injection molding, mold building, or secondary assembly.
• Strong PC skills and ability to read engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical services to improve manufacturing performance and profitability.
• Prioritize maintenance timing with production leadership.
• Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop best practices for micromold and small mold teams.
• Optimize secondary process parameters and train operators.
• Diagnose equipment and tooling issues and apply solutions.
• Promote safety, environmental and ergonomic initiatives.
• Lead continuous improvement projects in operations.
• Learn micro- and small-mold processing to troubleshoot effectively.
• Stay current on new equipment and process controls.
