Job summary

Actalent in East Peoria, IL is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer on a first shift to support assembly processes. You will troubleshoot day-to-day process problems, implement corrective actions, and validate changes to improve safety, quality, velocity, and cost efficiency.

You will also support NPI to ensure timely release of drawings and alignment with manufacturing requirements. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining shop floor processes, managing standard work and routings,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in manufacturing or related field.
• Experience in assembly manufacturing environments.
• Experience with vision systems, automation, AutoCAD, PFMEA, gauges.
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, IPVs, Poka-Yoke, tooling controls.
• Ability to learn VPPA, MESA, Capp+, PINpoint.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day process problems, implementing and validating solutions.
• Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to improve safety, quality, velocity, and cost.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) to ensure timely release and processing of engineering drawings.
• Develop, implement, and maintain shop floor processes, including standard work, routings/w instructions, BOM/MBOM, ergonomic requirements, and tooling.
• Analyze and recommend systems, procedures, training, and equipment needs with shop floor users and Operations staff.
• Manage expense and capital requirements related to assembly areas, NPI, capacity increases, equipment replacement, and continuous improvement.
• Improve value stream metrics through process improvement activities.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to the value stream for assembly processes.
