VALCO INDUSTRIES, INC. in Coldwater, OH is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes and equipment for poultry, egg, and swine production systems. You will analyze production methods, design layouts, and support tooling decisions to improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

Determine process, tooling and equipment requirements for efficient fabrication and assembly based on production volume.
Sequence operations and assist with make/buy/subcontract decisions for production steps.
Specify manufacturing requirements for complete lines of machines and tooling; recommend new equipment as needed.
Establish manufacturing processes to ensure quality parts in any technology used.
Evaluate new and existing products; recommend improvements to reduce cost or simplify manufacturing.
Prepare cost estimates for manufacturing changes and capital equipment requests (CER).
Consult with tooling designers and production supervisors on tooling and processing equipment objectives.
Design manufacturing or process equipment and draft layouts with tooling department input.
Oversee placement of tooling on equipment; ensure corrections before release to production.
Stay updated on manufacturing technologies to reduce cost and increase efficiency.
Investigate manufacturing problems to determine root causes and propose design or process changes.
Attend engineering project meetings; act as liaison for assigned facility and coordinate with vendors.
