Job summary

Preci Manufacturing in Winooski, Vermont, is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to develop and optimize CNC machining processes. This on-site, full-time role sits on the shop floor, interfacing with CNC programmers, machinists, and quality to deliver efficient, repeatable manufacturing methods.

The engineer will create process plans and routings, support tooling decisions, assist with new job launches, troubleshoot production problems, and lead improvement projects to reduce cycle time,

Qualifications

• 2+ years in manufacturing engineering, machining environment preferred.
• Practical knowledge of CNC machining principles and tooling.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with CAD/CAM and CAM programming is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings and GD&T to determine manufacturability and methods.
• Develop and maintain process plans, routings, and work instructions.
• Define tooling, fixtures, gauges, and inspection requirements.
• Collaborate with CNC programmers, machinists, and Quality to validate new jobs.
• Provide technical support for milling, turning, grinding operations and troubleshoot issues.
• Investigate scrap and rework using root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Reduce setup and cycle times; improve first-pass yield and process capability.
• Lead equipment and automation projects; document processes and training.
