Job summary
Zekelman Industries is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for our on-site facility in Niles, OH. You will design and implement manufacturing processes, optimize equipment, and collaborate with production and maintenance teams to improve quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities include diagnosing failures, reducing lead times, and supporting preventive maintenance while upholding safety standards. A 3+ year background in manufacturing engineering and strong MES/SAP skills are preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/manufacturing engineering or related field.
- 3+ years in manufacturing engineering or industrial maintenance.
- Proficient with mechanical/electrical systems and PLCs.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement new manufacturing processes and equipment for productivity and quality.
- Analyze operations to identify waste, cost savings, and lead-time reductions.
- Diagnose failures, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Optimize workflows and schedules to improve OEE and throughput.
- Support preventive/predictive maintenance and equipment commissioning.
- Ensure compliance with safety, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and promote safe practices.
