Job summary

Zekelman Industries in Niles, OH, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design, implement, and optimize manufacturing systems that convert raw materials into high-quality finished products. You will collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability.

This on-site role requires 3+ years in manufacturing engineering, a technical degree, strong problem-solving, and experience with MES and SAP.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in manufacturing engineering, industrial maintenance, or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Electrical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• Solid knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, PLCs, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Experience with MES, SAP, and ability to perform basic data analysis.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering docs.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new manufacturing processes, equipment, and system improvements.
• Analyze existing operations to identify optimization, waste reduction, and cost savings.
• Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Optimize workflows and schedules to maximize efficiency and reduce lead times.
• Collaborate with production and engineering to minimize downtime and improve OEE.
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Assist with installation, testing, commissioning, and startup of new equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance.
• Promote healthy and safe work practices as required.
