Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Machining) to apply engineering and hands-on skills to develop innovative hardware for space systems. You will own the interface between design and production, leading manufacturing and integration for current and next‑generation vehicles.

You will analyze and improve processes, create BOMs and work instructions, and collaborate daily with production, quality, and design teams to ensure on‑time delivery of high‑quality parts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or physics.
• 1+ years hands-on experience in design, development, manufacturing or test.
• Onsite work in Hawthorne, CA.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for product design and process improvements to improve manufacturing efficiency, ensure product quality, and lower costs for new and existing products.
• Analyze and disposition recurring manufacturing discrepancies and interface with the quality team on root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Create and manage manufacturing BOMs, work instructions, and specifications.
• Communicate on a daily basis with supporting departments such as production, machining, maintenance, quality, and design engineering to ensure that product is delivered on time to the correct quantities.
• Use project management skills and tools to investigate and lead projects for alternate component technologies for reduced cost or improved quality and reliability.
