Job summary

3M is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Decatur, AL operations. The role focuses on improving safety, quality, service and cost in MOF production, and requires leading cross-functional teams to scale up new products.

You will apply Lean and Six Sigma tools, develop training and documentation, and support 24/7 production activities. onsite work at Decatur, AL is expected, with up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or related field (required).
• Internship or 1 year of experience in process/product/manufacturing engineering or quality.
• Additional qualifications include Six Sigma or quality-improvement training.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement improvements related to safety, quality, service, and cost in MOF production areas in Decatur.
• Assist local and global manufacturing teams with root-cause analysis, timely responses, and corrective actions.
• Lead scale-up of new products and participate on cross-functional teams.
• Utilize Lean, Six Sigma and continuous improvement tools to drive enhancements.
• Develop training, process standards and documentation for production operations.
• Cover production and experimental runs in a 24/7 manufacturing environment as needed.
