Job summary

Gorbel is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to support production methods and lean initiatives at our Victor, NY facility. You will assist with developing production aids, documenting processes, and capturing data to drive continuous improvement alongside engineers.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in an Engineering or Engineering Technology program, with strong organizational and communication skills, proficiency in CAD and MS Office, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Enrollment as Engineering or Engineering Technology student.
• Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CAD (SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD) and other software.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment for maximum efficiency
• Develop and implement recommendations for tool redesign changes of materials, methods, etc.
• Research manufacturing trends, new technology and recommends improvements
• Investigate manufacturing problems and recommends solutions
• Facilitate Lean Manufacturing initiatives in all manufacturing facilities, participate in continuous improvement projects
• Investigate and prepare requests for capital improvements
• Review Health, Safety and Environmental
• Perform various projects as assigned
