Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a contract-to-hire role in Omaha, NE. You will lead small to medium projects, improve sheet-metal manufacturing processes, and implement lean and Six Sigma methods on the shop floor.

You will develop procedures, train production teams, and collaborate with maintenance and cross-functional groups to maximize uptime, quality, and throughput in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in manufacturing engineering or process engineering roles.
• CWEng or CWI certification held.
• Experience in sheet metal fabrication environments.
• Lean and Six Sigma process-improvement experience.
• Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead small to medium manufacturing projects with clear milestones.
• Develop, document, and implement new processes and standards.
• Create training materials for production and support teams.
• Define preventive and predictive maintenance requirements.
• Perform mechanical evaluations and optimize equipment performance.
• Drive lean and Six Sigma continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and cross-functional teams on the floor.
• Participate in project management activities with progress updates.
• Support automation and tooling design to improve throughput.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment to reduce downtime.
• Document processes, equipment specs, and outcomes.
